Football Focus Asia - Our Previous Work

At Football Focus Asia, we have been working in the Football Industry since 2006, helping clients all around Asia tie in with famous football players, teams and tournaments.

Recently we have expanded our role and now cover many more areas of business including Academy Development, VIP Sports Travel Packages, Event Organisation & On-Ground Activation, Signed Merchandise, Player Ambassadorships, Legend Player Visits, Coaching Clinics and UK Academy Visits and much more.

We have worked with hundreds of different clients all around South East Asia over that time, but to give a flavour of the work we have done, here are some examples of previous projects.

Tottenham Hotspur Academy Trip

TV3 Soccer Kids & British School KL

Football Show 'Soccer Kids' on TV3 had been running for a few years and TV3 wanted to take the show to the next level.

Through our contacts in the Premier League, we worked out an affordable package to train at the Tottenham Hotspur Academy in London and after rigorous nationwide trials two twelve year old boys were selected by TV3 to travel to the UK.

At the same time, we were also working with British School KL to host clinics at the school using the Tottenham Hotspur syllabus, which also included a visit from Tottenham Hotspur Academy coaches and Legend Gary Mabbutt, as well as further visits by Legend players such as Champions League winner Dietmar Hamann of Liverpool and Germany.

Some of the best boys from the coaching clinics were selected to go to train at the Tottenham Academy as well.

Whilst in London the boys trained with the Tottenham Hotspur age group teams and received coaching from the Academy coaches in the actual facility. They also got to see the first team training and met with the manager and some of the players as well. All flights, transport, accommodation and food was taken care of during the trip and the boys had an opportunity to take a London city tour as well so they could experience the UK.

The coaching went so well in fact that Tottenham were interested in taking one of the boys on permanently - current Pahang and Malaysia u-23 player Faisal Halim.

EPL Football Malaysia Cup

Standard Chartered Malaysia & Other Companies

Football Focus Asia has held over fifteen Legend Football tournament events around South East Asia over the years, but the Malaysia events were held over four years in association with title partner Standard Chartered.

We have had several further partners as well across all our tournaments, including Telekom Malaysia, Coca Cola, McDonalds, Chevrolet, SingTel, Maybank and Tesco amongst others.

Standard Chartered wanted to promote their links with Liverpool FC and at the same time find a property which could be used to reward their top customers with corporate hospitality and exclusive activities.

We brought three Legend teams into Malaysia, featuring players such as Robbie Fowler, Steve McManaman, Ronnie Johnsen, Dietmar Hamann, Jersey Dudek and Andy Cole competing against a local Malaysia Legend team.

Not only did the players compete in a tournament at Stadium, but they also took part in several activities with Standard Chartered such as a cocktail party with top clients, or coaching with the kids of the top customers.

In addition to this, we worked with several media companies and aired the tournament on TV3 and overseas, so there was a media value of over ten million ringgit to Standard Chartered.

The stadium was full for the event and Standard Chartered met their objectives with regards to corporate hospitality and media generation - in addition we also use the players to bring attention to Standard Chartered's CSR project 'Seeing is Believing'.

European Championships Roadshow

Continental Malaysia and Tesco

Continental were a European Championship partner and were looking to inform the public about their partnership while at the same time interacting with as many people as possible.

We arranged an event for them working with five of the busiest Tesco stores around Malaysia, using our Super Shot football penalty kick machine as the focal point and 'magnet' to draw in customers.

As the Super Shot is an advanced electronic machine this reflected well on the client's brand, particularly in comparison to some other companies more basic entertainment.

At each location it was free to play which created a carnival type atmosphere with small prizes being given away and a grand prize of excusive signed jerseys from the top players in the European Championships.

We represented the Continental story and explained about their different products whilst allowing their customers to have their tyres checked for wear and tear. We also had other activities to encourage families to interact with the event such as a branded mascot and other competitions.

When the roadshow was finished, we had touched over ten thousand members of public and achieved Continental's aim for the event.

PVF Academy Development, Hanoi

Vin Group, Vietnam

Vin Group, one of the largest companies in Vietnam were looking to contribute to Vietnamese football by setting up a World Class standard Academy in the country.

Football Focus Asia were engaged alongside our partners Red Strike to assess the current facilities and advise on any future development. After our initial assessment of the structural and technical elements of the Academy with our experts in Coaching, Academy Construction, Sports Science, Physiotherapy, Recruitment and Sports Business, we advised that a new facility be constructed to meet the companies goals.

After another twelve months, following advice from our experts, including Terry Robinson who worked on the St. George's Park facility in the UK, home of the England National Teams, the PVF Academy in Hanoi was completed.

With an enormous fully fitted gymnasium and physiotherapy suite, a full size pool with hot and cold water therapy pools, a hotel with all entertainment and nutritional requirements taken care of, our state of the art 360s football training machine and of course the seven football pitches, one fully covered and one with an attached stadium, the new facility is up to standard with those in the Premier League and one of the best facilities in Asia.

Fully staffed with experienced qualified coaches and with SOP's and a technical blueprint in place the Academy is already positively affecting the lives and abilities of Vietnam's young footballers with the goal of getting Vietnam to the World Cup in the future. Football Focus Asia was delighted to play a big part in the ongoing success of this world-class facility in Hanoi.

EPL Activation with Michael Owen

Mondelez Malaysia

Mondelez Malaysia were one of the first global markets to activate Cadbury's worldwide English Premier League partnership and they wanted a way to bring the Premier League to Malaysia, while achieving their aims of rewarding their customers, increasing sales and letting as many people know about their partnership as possible.

After looking at a number of option we felt that to bring former Premier League player Michael Owen over to Malaysia would fulfil these requirements and create a big enough buzz to generate excitement amongst fans of the Premier League.

We helped Mondelez plan the activation programme for Michael Owen and manage his time while he was in Malaysia to ensure that he met his requirements and did more for Cadbury while not abusing his time.

We also helped Cadbury with supplying electronic and inflatable games for their on-ground activation and supplying a range of EPL Premiums to generate sales in their channel outlets.

As a consequence, Mondelez Malaysia were very happy with the results of the campaign and were pleased that it progressed their previous campaign launch with us utilising Manchester United Legend Andy Cole.
